When a CD is inserted, mmtask.exe launches Musicmatch Jukebox to play the CD. This file is not harmful. It follows the official Microsoft method to be notified of such events by Windows. That is, it exists so that Windows can tell it that a CD is inserted. Because it only responds to a Windows event, it does not use any CPU cyles, so it will not slow your system down.
